The Sea of our own Heart
Nurturing The Seed

The Resting Space
Creating from a place of panic, anxiety or a sense of urgency to get something done (sooner rather than later) can really hamper our natural flow. It can drive a wedge between a tiny seed of an idea that just needs a little resting space to germinate, but instead is overwatered in the early stages by an overbearing insistence to ‘produce’ and is drowned in the process. Stepping back inside to the cool dark space of our own dwelling is needed.
Stillness, realignment, tuning in to our individual, personal songnote.. Resting in the forest of ourselves and swimming in the sea of our own heart feels like a good, necessary place to start…for me at least!
The Slow Meander
In this modern age of immediate results, instant gratification and AI that can produce instantly; the very process of pondering, wondering, contemplation and growth are becoming inhibited by a pressure that blocks creative flow and newness. A gradual evolving pathway needs to be set upon with just one step forward sometimes - a slow meander of contemplation for a well of ideas to spring up naturally from within. This is how we connect to our originality and the non grasping allows and lets a little wisp of an idea bob to the surface and we can paddle with it for a bit and build gentle momentum.
We can gradually and steadily begin to ride higher waves, grab the little sea threads of magic that rise up and knit our sails of delight to glide along our innermost ocean of dreams and sail along our path of delights, creating with ease.
The Ocean of Force
How do we hold on to our nerve and keep a steady tempo in this high achieving, fast paced, competitive world that seems to be quickening daily!
How do we just learn to trust a more temperate travel that is needed for ideas to be birthed instead of being swept up in the ocean of force?
Perhaps by pulling everything back that is ours and letting everything else glide away.
Gently wrapping the waters over our skin, rekindling the soft gentle trickle of the low-lying stream where it all begins, before running into the river and gushing on to the estuaries and expansive sea flow.
Being still and lucid a while, floating free as the pressure pounds. Trusting the expedition of your own current and not getting brushed away by the tide.
As a creative and an individual who needs immense peace and deep solace at times to discover new imaginings (but also as someone that lives in a busy city!!) I find it hard to strike this balance. Moving between the force and gentleness can feel exhausting and sometimes I think it is easier to just remain in one or the other! I inevitably burn out in the mania and sometimes just drift aimlessly in the peace!
The Dance of Balance
I think heartfelt inner listening is key and helps make transitions between disparate states and energies less chaotic and more stable. Knowing the time instinctively to move with pace and rest with ease. Dancing with yourself gives a grounding for coherence and a rhythm for your own ‘goose-step’ so to speak.
If you are new here, welcome! I am Zoey and I intend to share my musings with you every Sunday evening - as a little ritual for myself and a way to close the week and dance off into the next…
